Horacio Martínez – Guitarist, Singer-Songwriter & Multi-Instrumentalist
Horacio Martínez is an Argentine-born guitarist, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in New York City, known for blending South American folk traditions with jazz improvisation and poetic songwriting. His music draws from chacarera, candombe, festejo, and Andean rhythms, layered with rich harmonic textures, voice, and the sounds of charango, quena, sikus, and guitar.
Originally from San Salvador de Jujuy, Horacio studied classical guitar in Mendoza (Argentina), where he earned his degree before moving to the U.S. with just a suitcase and a guitar. Since then, he has built a vibrant career as both a solo artist and collaborator, performing at venues such as Saint Peter’s Church, the Bronx Music Heritage Center, and Carnegie Hall. He shares the stage with acclaimed artists including Arturo O’Farrill, Leo Genovese, and Residente.
He is currently working on his upcoming EP Tres Vidas, a personal and musical journey through his life in Jujuy, Mendoza, and New York. His live performances are immersive and soulful, combining original songs, improvisation, and storytelling — an experience that bridges borders and generations.
Beyond performance, Horacio is a dedicated educator and cultural worker. He teaches music in schools and youth programs across NYC, including the “Big Note Little Note” program at Carnegie Hall, inspiring the next generation through creativity, technique, and cultural identity.
